Since 2014, the L-Train Memorial Foundation has proudly awarded over $30,000 in scholarships to outstanding students across New Jersey. Our flagship L-Train Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the life and legacy of Lorne “L-Train” Bennett—a beloved coach, mentor, and community servant who dedicated his life to uplifting youth through education, sports, and service.

2025 Scholarship Cycle

We are excited to announce that we have selected our 2025 L-Train Memorial Scholarship recipients, who will be honored at our 2nd Annual Gala in November. These exceptional students embody the values of perseverance, leadership, and community that Lorne Bennett lived by.

What’s Coming in 2026: Expanded Scholarship Opportunities

Beginning in 2026, the L-Train Memorial Foundation will expand its scholarship offerings to include three new, targeted scholarships that reflect the core pillars of our mission: sports leadership, academic excellence, and community service.

These new scholarships are designed to provide greater access and recognition for youth pursuing careers and making impact in their unique ways.

🏀 L-Train Sports Industry Scholarship

For students passionate about building a career in the sports industry. Eligible majors include sports medicine, management, therapy, communication, and law. This scholarship reflects the lifelong commitment to athletics shared by both Lorne Bennett and Foundation Founder, Trevena Bennett, a former collegiate athlete and Georgetown Sports Industry graduate.
